The Great American Main Street Award (GAMSA) recognizes accredited Main Street Programs throughout the country whose local initiatives in preservation and revitalization have helped to transform their community’s historic district.

While Uptown Columbus, Inc. has served as downtown Columbus’ premier revitalization organization since 1983, they became an official designated Georgia Main Street community in 2009. Since then, they have seen over $74 million in capital investments along with the completion of 59 rehab projects and have increased downtown housing by 29%.
